The need
When the next step feels complicated
Security needs change as an organisation adds systems, data, people and suppliers. Teams need a grounded view of risks and practical next steps.
- You need to understand exposure across an application, network or cloud environment.
- A security review has produced findings that need prioritisation and remediation planning.
- Your organisation is preparing evidence and practices for a framework or independent assessment.
How we can help
A practical way through
Specular has internal cyber-security capability and works with specialist partners where needed. The work is scoped to your assets and requirements.
- Security and vulnerability assessments, VAPT and penetration testing
- Web, mobile, application, network, cloud and endpoint security
- Security monitoring and managed security support, as scoped
- Policies, governance, awareness and cyber-security training
- Incident and breach-response support
- Remediation planning and security architecture guidance
- ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR/privacy-security and PCI DSS readiness support
Possible outputs
Clearer next steps
A clearer view of in-scope findings, prioritised remediation and a path for continued security improvement. Incident response may follow a different urgent workflow.
- Assessment scope and in-scope findings
- Risk-prioritised remediation recommendations
- Readiness gap notes or implementation support as agreed
Useful questions
A few things to know
Can you assess a web application or network?
Security scope includes web, mobile and application testing, network security, cloud security and other assessments, subject to agreed scope.
Does readiness support issue a certification?
No. Specular can assess gaps, support control implementation and coordinate with appropriate auditors or certification bodies where necessary.
Do you provide 24/7 monitoring?
Monitoring and managed security support are defined by the agreed engagement scope. Specular does not currently claim 24/7 SOC coverage.
Can penetration testing begin before scope is agreed?
No. Testing requires explicit written authorisation for the named assets and an agreed scope before it begins.
